About the training
This workshop combines contemporary dance technique, improvisation and bodywork into a cohesive whole that teaches us to understand the body deeply on many levels. Through targeted physical interventions – weight shifts, skeletal alignment, breathing cues and external guidance – we explore what guides us in dance and what blocks us.
We train ourselves to listen precisely, so as to better recognise where my body is in relation to everything around me, and to ask: ‘Where can I let go?’ and ‘Where do I have the clarity to know exactly what to do?’ The technical work provides a foundation, whilst improvisation opens up space for authentic decisions. This creates a living dialogue between impulse and execution – from which we act clearly and authentically.
