“We would like to beat the word ‘dance’ with a hammer until it becomes a broad, thin foil, capable of engaging gesture and movement in a general way. We would like to make the word ‘dance’ to overflow, to run far, until it reaches unthinkable places.” Dewey Dell opens a two-day workshop to people that have an interest in dance meant as a malleable matter with no classification and who have a wish to start or deepen their own choreographic research within this matter. Through the relationships between gesture and different forms and practices such as sound, words, and drawing, possible beginnings of an individual research will be investigated. The workshop investigates the power of the visual and the obscure reason why one image next to another begins to vibrate with a greater ‘meaning'.

About the Dewey Dell collective and the piece "Le Sacre du Printemps":
Dewey Dell is an Italian dance and performance collective. The workshop takes place as part of the tour-performances of their current production Le Sacre du Printemps. This production with original music by Igor Stravinsky was awarded the Danza&Danza prize for the best Italian dance production of 2023. It will be presented on the 26th and 27th of April at the Schaubühne Lindenfels
