About the training
The class has an experimental character and is based on Vasiliki’s movement research around Greek traditional circle dances.
During each session, we will learn steps from some traditional Greek circle dances and look at the ideas behind them: repetition and variation, rhythm, patterns and the connection created through dancing together in a circle. From there, we will experiment with how these ideas and principles can be transferred into contemporary dance.

About Vasiliki
Vasiliki is a dancer and choreographer based in Leipzig. She has choreographed for the Leipziger Tanztheater, Tanzlabor Leipzig, Schauspiel Leipzig and Theater der Jungen Welt and has created her own independent productions. Her work has been presented at LOFFT – DAS THEATER, Schaubühne Lindenfels, SYNERGEIO Cultural Space Larissa, BRUX Freies Theater Innsbruck and Elastic Arts Foundation Chicago. Her latest dance production, LASKARINES, a co-production with LOFFT – DAS THEATER, premiered in December 2025 and was presented in Greece and Austria in 2026. Her artistic work has been supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste, Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen, Kulturamt Leipzig and the Goethe-Institut, among others.
