Surrendering into movement

Soft acrobatics & partnering with Yotam Peled

The workshop is an exploration of the virtuosity of the body and the potential to take risks through testing different forms of mobility. The seminar integrates movement sequences from different movement methods, such as Tai-Chi, Capoeira and Flying-Low, aiming to prepare our core and build our relation to the floor. The sessions focus on expanding our technical skills, learning to approach the floor with ease, and travel the space through the release of energy and effective dynamics.

Through a technique-based warm-up and guided improvisation tasks we practice the mobility of our spine, softening and articulating, guiding and following different body parts. In the course of the practice we learn and practice different acrobatic drills, maneuvers and phrases, with a sustainable approach, as well as repertoire from Yotam's creations which integrates floor acrobatics in fluid movement, and playful partner-work inspired by wrestling and kung-fu techniques, working with counterweight and soft manipulation.
