The course offers the opportunity to get to know Contact Improvisation and to gain initial experience in Contact Improvisation.
We will look at the basic principles of contact improvisation, such as leaning, weight sharing, leading and following, tension and relaxation as well as techniques that can be helpful in dance and different qualities of touch. The content of the lessons is orientated towards the needs and requirements of the group.
The course is based on the behavioural foundation of consent and conscious awareness of one's own boundaries and the boundaries of others, as well as a respectful approach to these. As contact improvisation can be physically and emotionally challenging, there is also space for breaks and verbal exchange.
The course is aimed at people who identify as FLINTA* (FLINTA* means: women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender people, *other variations of gender diversity) and have had little or no experience with contact improvisation.
You are not in the right place in this course if you identify as cis-endo-male. Likewise, if you do not reject racism, sexism, homophobia, trans hostility or other exclusionary behaviour.
In order to create a safe space together and also because of the limited number of places, only binding participation is possible after a trial lesson.
If the costs are a problem for you, please write to me.
I try to offer a solo place in every course if possible. Feel free to contact me here too.
