About the class
Creating in the moment
We start the class by emptying the body through shaking so that we are able to be fully present. Throughout the week we will have our physical focus on the head-spine-pelvis connection as our creating force and dive into exercises that make us play with our perception of time, our relations to space and other bodies. We will also make use of touch and voice occasionally.
We keep on inviting a mindset of child-like curiosity and practice relaxing into the state of not knowing what’s next.
The class ends with a group improvisation where we are free to express what’s present in the moment.
The class draws inspiration from instant composition, Butoh and somatics and invites people from different (movement and creative) backgrounds who are open to explore different states of presence in mind and body as well as the beauty of creating something together.
About Alina
Alina studied Visual Communications at art school Kassel with the focus on drawing, collage and design. From there it led her to dance improvisation and the Contemporary Dance Education at SOZO visons in motion in Kassel.
She has been working as a performer in several dance productions in Germany and took part in creative projects with children. Throughout the years she has been researching on her own artistic material and the embodiment of the inner realm.
Nowadays she creates spaces for dance improvisation, contact improvisation and creative expression. She is also a ContaKids teacher for adults and children.
