Profitraining Isaac Araujo
About the class
In this training, Isaac Araujo focuses on various dance aspects, such as torso and pelvic mobility, awareness of one's own body weight, connecting the upper and lower limbs with the body's center (core), and support dynamics in partnering. Aspects of Laban/Bartenieff movement studies are also addressed, such as working with the energetic properties of movement in relation to the factors space, time, flow and weight. In addition to working with forms and shaping, the focus lies on guided improvisation inspired by visual stimuli, given textures, movement exploration and the participants' personal expression.
"When I dance, it is important to me that I am fully engaged with my thoughts and perceptions. That is why I encourage my students to discover their freedom in my classes. Every language has different elements, building blocks, so to speak, that you combine to say something. I bring this principle into the classroom and invite the students to respond to the movement material I offer in a way that engages them personally. As a result of this process, most students experience personal body-mind connections. In my classes, I focus on coordination, strength, movement dynamics, self-control, freedom, imagination, and the wisdom of dancing.” - Isaac Araujo
